Small Headers: My only gripe about the GPSStix is that the headers are spaced so close together - 0.05 inches. It’s tough if not impossible to find any connectors for it, let alone solder/unsolder anything to it. This is the third connector I’ve placed on the same 8 pins (the center pin is not connected - it’s cut before it reaches the PCB.
My Gumstix Stack: A bit out of focus, but you can see the netwifimicroSD on top of the Verdex XM4-BT on top of the GPSStix
Shaft Encoder: 8 counts per rotation; not the best resolution, but it will work for my purposes
Encoder Mounted: This is my ghetto encoder mounted on the back output shaft of the motor with the photogate hot glued to the motor itself. This is a temporary solution!
